Columbia

A ritual carried out in candlelight between a man and his woman, dancing in a whirlpool, her skirt surfs the waves.

Cumbia is a mix of the XVI th century European music of the conquistadors and Amerindians’ rhythms as well as African trends and tempos.

The voluptuous dance, adopted by both the colonists and the colonized, crossed borders and conquered neighbouring cultures: Mexican, Equatorial, Chilian, Peruvian … an outstanding form.
